Slow-Cooked Barbecued Beef Flank Steak

Description:

Smoky barbecue sauce permeates this big beef steak as it simmers away in your slow cooker.  Cut it into thin slices and pile onto hoagie rolls or baked potatoes, or serve it with your favorite salad and garlic bread.  Slow cooker - 8-10 hours if thawed.

Preparation:  Thaw completely.  If frozen or partially frozen, add 1-2 hours extra cooking time. 

 

Cooking Instructions:  Slow cooker method:  Place contents of bag in slow cooker.  Cover and cook on low 8-10 hours or until meat is very tender.  Carefully remove meat to cutting board, reserving juices.  Use a knife to cut the steak against the grain into thin slices.  Oven method:  Preheat oven to 250F.  Place contents of bag into baking dish.  Cover tightly (lid or foil).  Bake 8-10 hours.  Cooking times may vary due to differences in ovens. 
Place sliced flank steak on platter, and drizzle reserved juices on meat.

 

Suggested Sides:  Serve as sandwiches, over baked potatoes, or with salad and garlic bread.
