Seafood Cioppino

Description:

This classic Italian seafood stew was created by immigrants who settled in San Francisco. Shrimp and white fish, bell peppers, onions, and mushrooms swim in a zesty tomato sauce. Hearty and healthful.  Stovetop - 15 minutes if thawed.

Cooking Instructions

Preparation:   Thaw completely. If frozen, defrost in microwave before cooking.

Cooking Instructions:  Place contents of sauce bag in large, covered skillet or Dutch oven.  Cover and bring to a simmer over medium heat.  When sauce is simmering, add seafood.  Push fish and shrimp down into the simmering sauce.  Cover pan and allow to simmer 5 minutes. Turn fish and redistribute both fish and shrimp in the sauce so they cook evenly.  Simmer another 3-5 minutes or until fish is flaky.  Do not overcook or fish will get tough.  It is normal for the white fish to break up during cooking.

Suggested Sides:  Pasta, steamed vegetablesd
