Shrimp Gumbo

Description:

“Start with a roux.”  But of course YOU don’t have to make it.  We have it made for you.  All you do is add the shrimp, onions, celery, green peppers and other goodies and give it a quick cooking on the stovetop.  Serve over the rice we give you, and you’ve made an instant Louisiana favorite in your own kitchen.  Stovetop – 20 minutes if thawed.

Cooking Instructions

Preparation:  Thaw completely.  If frozen or partially frozen, defrost slightly in microwave before cooking.  Do not over-microwave, or shrimp will become tough.

Cooking Instructions:  Place contents of vegetable bag and 2 cups water (1 cup for regular entrée) in large saucepan and bring to a boil.  Lower heat and simmer 15 minutes (10 minutes for regular entrée).  Add bag of shrimp and cook 5-8 minutes or until shrimp turns pink and opaque.  Do not over-cook, or shrimp will become tough.  Place rice in microwaveable container; add 2 tablespoons water (1 tablespoon for regular order).  Cover and heat in microwave 1 minute or until hot.  Serve gumbo over rice.

Sugggested Sides:  Green salad, hot French bread
